Currently, DPRA is searching for an Junior Consulting Engineer in r4’s FISTA AI Center of Excellence (FACE) at FISTA Park in Lawton, Oklahoma. This full-time position will provide analysis and support of data operations and/or business practices related to the effective use of data implementation within Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) information systems.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:- Assists with configuring software modules, algorithims and systems.
- Performs quality assurance procedures
- Manages interoperation with customer APIs and systems
- Identifies and documents problems traced to data, configuration and system output issues and recommends solutions.
- Creates SQL and Python scripts to retrieve and analyze data from data sources.
- Conducts necessary transformations so that data is structured ready for data analysts and data scientists.
- Assists with reviewing work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and customer standards.
- Identify and triage deviations from specification and works with customer and engineering staff to resolution of the identified problem.
- Assists with configuration of AI/ML platform to support customer specifications.
- Works with development, subject matter experts and data scientist teams to ensure projects meet all requirements and schedules.
- Assists with user research to identify data and processing pain points and opportunities for improvement.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work experience
- Experience with writing Python, R, SQL and JavaScript code
- Understanding of quality assurance principles, processes, methodologies, and tools
- Experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communcation and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently or with a team; a self-starter, with strong and consistent follow-through on initiatives.
- Ability to adapt to quickly to changing circumstances and strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD SECRET clearance (preferred), or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:- Functional Department of Defense domain and data knowledge
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- MS Office 365 skills, mainly MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, highly preferred
- Other relevant business/technical certifications
